Surf From Above - Aerial Survey of the California Coast March 25 2014, 0 Comments
For nearly five years, ace helicopter pilot Howard Hamlin and Tom Cozad have been planning an aerial photo shoot that would cover a large winter swell hitting the 420-mile stretch of California coastline from San Francisco to Long Beach. They patiently waited for that ideal day when swell, wind and weather conditions were just right. This January the models showed a strong system coming off of Japan that was forecast to grow into a monster storm as it headed east. Thankfully the charts were true and Howard and Tom absolutely scored. We couldn't wait to offer some of Tom's work here and are proud to announce what we hope to be an ongoing and growing offering of a birds eye view of some of the Golden States Great Breaks.
